Welcome to PolarStakes ("Platform"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and PolarStakes ("we," "us," or "our"), a company registered under the laws of the Republic of Ghana.

2. Eligibility

To use our Services, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
• Not be barred from using the Services under the laws of Ghana or other applicable jurisdiction.
• Not be located in a jurisdiction where prediction markets or online betting is prohibited.

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

You may register using your Google account or Email OTP. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.

3.2 Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. We highly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for added security. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

4. Platform Services: Prediction Markets

4.1 Nature of Service

The Platform allows users to participate in prediction markets by placing bets on the outcome of future events. These markets are speculative in nature.

4.2 Placing Bets

• Bets are placed using cryptocurrency (USDT on BNB Smart Chain).
• Once a bet is placed, it is generally immutable. Ensure your selection is correct before confirming.
• The Platform reserves the right to void bets in cases of technical error or obvious market manipulation.

4.3 Market Resolution

• Markets are resolved based on the specific "Resolution Criteria" and "Resolution Source" defined for each market.
• In the absence of a specific source, the Platform will use generally accepted reliable public information.

5. Financial Terms

5.1 Deposits and Withdrawals

• All transactions are conducted in USDT (BEP20).
• You are responsible for ensuring you send funds to the correct wallet address. We are not responsible for funds sent to incorrect addresses or on unsupported networks.
• Withdrawal fees apply to cover network costs (gas fees).

5.2 Fees

• Platform Fee: A service fee of 5% is deducted from the total winning pool of each market before distribution to winners.
• Dispute Bond: A fee of $10.00 USD is required to initiate a dispute. This bond is returned if your dispute is upheld.
• Submission Fee: Users flagged for spam or low-quality submissions may be required to pay a submission fee of $5.00 USD.

5.3 No Interest

Balance held in your Platform wallet does not accrue interest. The Platform is not a bank.

6. Disputes and Resolutions

6.1 Dispute Process

• If you disagree with a market resolution, you may raise a dispute within 24 hours of the resolution ("Dispute Window").
• To prevent spam, a Dispute Bond is required.
• You must provide evidence to support your claim.

6.2 Final Decision

Disputes are reviewed by Platform administrators. The decision of the Platform regarding any dispute is final and binding.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illegal activities.
• Attempt to manipulate market outcomes through fraud, collusion, or external interference.
• Post offensive, defamatory, or illegal content in market comments.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Platform without authorization.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

9.1 Service "As Is"

The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

9.2 Financial Risk

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Ghana.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes (e.g., via email or platform notification). Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
